J. PETER BAKER
Welcome to JPB Photography. I am passionate about light. The most familiar objects can appear fresh and new in the right illumination. The quality of light can change a subject's energy and influence the viewer's emotion.
My Journey:
Over the course of my career I have become a published writer, photographer and a collected artist. I have founded and sold businesses including creative agencies and commercial photography studios. I very much enjoy sharing my experience in the effort of mentoring artists working to make a successful career in a creative field.
Photography has allowed me to combine all my interests –writing, art history and entrepreneurship. Writing allows me to craft a story – whether in a single frame or throughout an editorial exposé. Art history provides a foundation of composition and understanding of visual perception. Entrepreneurship has helped me to influence and connect with a given target audience.​
Recognition:
I am grateful for the recognition I have received in the form of awards and being published in over 100 magazines, catalogs and advertisements. I have designed and developed over 30 national consumer, B to B and philanthropic publications including: DiversityInc., Real Simple, Running Times Magazine, Entertaining, WellesleyWeston Magazine, Fairfield County Charity Register, Beyond Philanthropy and Fairfield History.
